Amazon India Fashion Week AW’18
School of Fashion organized an educational visit to Fashion design Council of India (FDCI) for their students in ‘Amazon India Fashion Week AW’17, JNU Stadium, New Delhi on 15 March 2018, where all the students of 2nd, 4th and 6th Semester along with faculty members Ms. Sapna Singh, Ms. Sapna Devi, Ms. Rashika Kaushal and Mr. Neeraj Kumar witnessed the FDCI Show.
The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), a not-for-profit organization, is the apex body of fashion design in India, itwas created to promote, nurture and represent the most incredible talents in the country.
It is represented by their reputed Designers & members.
Prime objective of FDCI is to propagate the business of fashion in India and globally by adding resplendent flair in the form of coveted fashion weeks.
The students saw fusion of varied concepts. At the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2018, Designer Karishma Deepa Sondhi, Glamour, shimmer and shine caught everyone’s attention when Bollywood Celebrity Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for Karishma Deepa Sondhi.
The collection, titled Rasbhari, was all about intricate embroideries and tassel work
The collection, Rasbhari, had silhouettes rooted in tradition, while the clothes dazzled in true Bollywood style. What stood out was the intricate embroidery and tassel work. With this collection, Karishma Deepa Sondhi celebrates the joy of being a modern Indian woman.
Designer Ankita, the collection titled Saaj by Ankita, had bold graphics of black and white chevrons and other geometric patterns embedded in the collection along side pop orange and florescent aqua. The patterns, developed on cotton hand weave, featured on tailored pant-suit, jackets, culottes and skirts in the collection.
Designer Rahul Singhshowcased a collection that presented a mix and match of traditional crafts from different cities, street culture, and colour stories creating an offbeat look.
It was a good learning experience for the Fashion students in terms of the following:
Managing runway and exhibition,
Working procedure of main show & Back stage area,
Coloursof thi sseason & styles etc.
Managing buyers, audience and Visitors.
