Case study and site visit by the lll semester students of b.arch

An educational visit to a number of Pre-schools was organized by School of Architecture and Planning (SOAP) on 10th September 2018 for the III semester students of Architecture, as a part of their curriculum of ‘Architecture Design’. The faculties accompanying the students were Ar. Indrani Basu, Ar. Nidhi Aggarwal and Ar. Nisha Sharma. The aim of this visit is to make students understand the concept, idea, functionality and services of pre-school buildings.

The III semester students of B. Arch. visited the following pre-primary schools:
1. K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram
2. I discovery Preschool, Sector-46, Gurgaon
3. Little Millennium Preschool, Sector-14, Gurgaon

The students studied the following aspects of space design:
• location
• entrance
• access
• floor planning
• furniture details
• building façade
• volume and voids proportions

The students observed the different activities of the Pre-primary schools and prepared a case study presentation.
The students also visited the proposed site at Sector -56, Gurgaon to study the site. They prepared a site analysis report based on their observation at the site.
