The Health Society of K.R. Mangalam University organized a Health Awareness and Medical-check up Camp on Saturday, 22nd April 2017at Government High School , Village Abheypur, Sohna. The camp was organised in association with an NGO “Vision of India” with the mission “To create Health awareness among the students and residents of Abheypur Village”.
The camp was attended by the students of Class X, XI of the school and villagers. They underwent various Biochemical tests such as Body Mass Index, Hb content, Blood Group, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose etc.
Some female villagers were found to be suffering from severe diabetes, especially women. Some Girl students were found to be anaemic with Hb level 6-8 which is below the normal range. The villagers and students were counselled and were educated about their diseases byMs. Silky Sethy. The students were also informed about general dietary habits and importance of living healthy lifestyle.
The camp was conducted by Ms. Silky Sethy, Coordinator, Health Societyunder the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Arun Garg, Dean, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon.Ms. Silky Sethy addressed the students and other attendees of the camp and said “Healthy food is very important and one should follow nutritious diet to ensure healthy living.” She also said that in future, more such camps will be organized with an effort to create Healthier generation for future India.
