Workshop on CISCO Networking

Realizing the importance of Computer Networking in today's world, KRMU CSI Student Branch in association with Network Bulls, Gurugram organized a one day workshop on Networking, on 30th August, 2017. Two of their trainers,Mr. Siddharth and Mr Adithya, well experienced in different fields of networking came to teach students the basics and importance of networking in today's world. The workshop started with a welcome note by Atishay Jain (B. Tech CSE - V Semester), who very well addressed the trainers. Network Bulls is Asia’s Biggest Cisco training company. They have over 3000 Live Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IPS Systems, Call Managers, and Wireless LAN Controllers etc. in their Data Center. With Asia’s Largest Cisco training infrastructure, they have students from over 40 countries getting trained in their campus. Network Bulls has produced hundreds of CCIE engineers over last 5 years, and placed over 3000 students in various MNC’s. In the workshop, the trainersdiscussedabout very relevant networking topics beginning with basic protocols-FTP,  HTTP etc. andthe various servers-Domain Name Server, Email Server etc. They briefed the students about the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, a networking framework to implement protocols in layers with controls being passed from one layer to another. Mr. Adithya also explained us the detail working of the model. The practical implementation of the network on the simulator, available by CISCO was also shown. Mr. Siddharth gave the students a live experience of the working of switches and routers and transfer of data packets between them. The students were quite intrigued by this. He explained the students about the various job prospects in Networking, that may enable them to have a successful career path. Around 60 students and five faculty members from different schools of KRMU actively participated in the workshop. All the attendees were given ‘Certificate of Participation’ by Network Bulls. The teachers in charge Mrs.Parneeta, Mrs. Kriti and Mrs. Snehlata along with the CSI Executive members ensured smooth functioning and successful completion of the workshop. The seminar concluded with the presentation of memento to Mr. Siddharth and Mr. Adithya by Mrs. Parneeta, Assoc. Professor, SOET, followed by vote of thanks by Mr. Atishay Jain.
