Zonal Nasa 2017 Zone1
NASA – ‘National Association of Students of Architecture’ is a forum which promotes interaction between students, faculty and professionals. It is a platform where students from varied cultural backgrounds would learn and share their knowledge. National NASA convention is a yearly event at the National level and the Zonal NASA is one at the zonal level. In National NASA 100-120 colleges participate from all over India. For Zonal NASA there are 6 zones throughout Indiaincluding 1-2 states within one zone. Zonal NASA invites around 20-25 colleges per zone.
This year Zonal NASA 2017 of Zone-1 was held at ITM University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh from 5th to 8th October. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of SOAP of KRMU participated in the Zonal NASA 2017. The students participated in the following trophies:
1) Archontention: Museum trophy 2017.
2) Zonal Nasa Design Competition (ZNDC).
The students also participated in various workshops, e.g., Brick workshop, Architectural rendering, Augmented Reality (computer software), Shells structural design, Social media on Architectural Design, Learning to Design from Heritage workshops, Housing, Urban Design, Thinking Ecology, etc. These workshops were all very educational and interactive. These workshops were conducted from 9:00am to 5:00pm with lunch breaks for all the three days. On the other had there were some extracurricular events as well, in which SOAP students won some prizes. They were the first runner up in the face painting competition. Other than that there were events like designing houses using crumbled paper and also designing bird houses using fruit crates. There were a lot more events which were introduced on the spot.Altogether it was a wonderful experience for the students to learn and get a glimpse ofcompetition outside in the real world.
