Job Summary:
We are looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to oversee our university’s social media presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging content, managing online communities, and analyzing performance metrics to enhance brand awareness and engagement among students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others.
- Create, curate, and manage engaging content (text, images, videos, and graphics) tailored to each platform, showcasing university events, achievements, and student life.
- Monitor social media trends, tools, and best practices to optimize performance and engagement with students, alumni, and faculty.
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with university departments, marketing, design, and content teams to align social media campaigns with broader communication strategies.
- Plan and execute social media advertising campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and admissions.
- Analyze key metrics and prepare reports to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging social media platforms and trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Manage partnerships with student influencers, alumni, and brand ambassadors for promotions and collaborations.
- Ensure brand consistency in voice, messaging, and aesthetics across all social media channels.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role in an educational institution or related sector.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and analytics tools (e.g., Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Hootsuite).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and promoting academic and student initiatives.
- Experience with graphic design and video editing tools is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with paid social media campaigns.
- Knowledge of SEO and content marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with student engagement initiatives, influencer marketing, and alumni relations.
