AANTRITA – World Architecture Day on 5th October 2018
Report on event “AANTRITA” -World Architecture Day on5th October 2018 The School of Architecture and Planning organized anevent “AANTRITA” to celebrate World Architecture Day on Friday, 5th October 2018.
The celebration includes the following competitions:
1) BANSTRUCTURE – Bamboo structure making competition
2) CHITRARTHI – Photography competition
3) NAVYATA – Accessorize to the occasion (fashion show)
4) SUI DHAGA- KhadiVastra Competition
In this event around 40 students from K.R. Mangalam World School, GK-II, New Delhi and Summerfield School, New Delhi participated in different competitions with full enthusiasm accompanied by their teachers. In all the competitions students from different departments of K.R. Mangalam University also participated in great numbers. The faculty coordinators were Ar. Shivani Singh and Ar. Akaanksha Singh with cooperation from all the faculty members of the school.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble. Vice Chancellor Prof. Aditya Malik, Hon’ble Pro . Vice Chancellor Prof Anita Sharma and Dean Research Prof. Ashum Gupta with lighting the lamp. Dean from all the schools of K.R. Mangalam University also graced the programme with their presence. Inaugural speech was given by Dean SOAP Prof. Indrani Basu about Architecture and the importance of World Architecture Day. Prof. Hemani Singh presented the brief about department activities and work of Final year thesis students in her presentation. Mementos were also presented to the dignitaries.
In first half during the events Bamboo Structure, Sui Dhaga and Chitrarthi participants worked on variety of ideas based on themes as per the events given. Bamboo structure was the team event in which students worked in group of 4-5, building structure based on stability and flexibility of the material provided. Sui Dhaga based on theme –“Ideology of Gandhiji”, the participants drewtheir concepts on khadivastraand stiched buttons on it.Theme for Chitrarthi was “ Heritage and Colour”, and the photos were displayed panels. Food Stalls were organized and managed by the students from different departments and were awarded prizes for taste and presentation.
In the second half, Navyata – Fashion Show participants walked on the ramp with theme “Principle of Architecture” which includes rhythm, symmetry, hierarchy etc.
At the end of the event Dean, Prof. IndraniBasu distributed the prizes to winner participants of all events.
