The 2nd Convocation was held on 23rd November 2019 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.
Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Former President of India was the Chief Guest of the big day. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Singh, Chancellor, Shri Yash Dev Gupta, Chairman, Members of the Governing Body, Board of Management, Finance Committee and Academic Council. Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Malik, Vice Chancellor, steered the Convocation ceremony.
Padma Shri Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor, welcomed the Chief Guest and presided over the Convocation ceremony. He congratulated the graduands and said “I hope that the education imparted to you at this prestigious institution will help you not only in your career but will also make you a responsible citizen of India”.
Prof. Aditya Malik, Vice Chancellor, congratulated the graduands and said “Our teaching is organized in a manner so that learners are immersed in experiences within which they may engage in meaningful enquiry, research, action, imagination, creation, discovery, collaboration, theorizing and personal reflection. We provide a teaching and learning environment that gives students an opportunity to design their own degree and choose a specialization which suits their own interests."
A scintillating medals and awards ceremony began with Dr. Diwakar Padalia, Controller of Examination declaring the names of the university gold medallist and Ph.D. degree awardees. Eight Hundred and Twenty (820) students from various schools and departments received degrees during Convocation 2019. Out of which 362 graduated in 2018 and 458 in 2019. This number includes 698 undergraduates, 76 postgraduates, 5 Doctoral degrees and 41 diplomas.
During the Convocation Address Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Pranab Mukherjee said, “It is good to know that K.R. Mangalam University imparts quality education in diverse fields of study providing students with exquisite experiences through knowledge, collaboration and partnership.” He stressed on the importance of research in academia and said “Research and Innovation are the keystones for widening the country’s production potential. Our Future growth will result not so much from the utilization of our resources with existing technology than from its better usage though more advanced technology.”
He further congratulated the students and said “I want to once again congratulate each one of you for this achievement. This occasion will forever be etched in your memory, constantly reminding you of the time you spent fruitfully at KRMU…”
The graduating students took an oath to strive throughout to be honest and responsible individuals. It was a day of pride and contentment for the management, faculty, staff and parents. A day to cherish and celebrate. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
