E-Yantra Robotic workshop held in IIT Bombay
Two faculties from the School of Engineering and Technology Ms. Puja Acharya and Ms. Charu Singh went to IIT Bombay for attending the two day workshop on 12th and 13th October 2018 under E-yantra to set up the Robotic Center at K.R.MU. It is an initiative by IIT Bombay under the supervision of Dr. Kavi Arya (Principal Investigator, E-Yantra, IIT Bombay) that aims to create the next generation of embedded systems engineers with a practical outlook to help provide practical solutions to some of the real world problems.
The e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) is a college level program under which colleges are encouraged to setup robotics labs and to encourage & imbibe increased imagination, innovation, creation and application. It is designed as a scalable and sustainable approach that addresses infrastructure creation and teacher training to create an eco-system at the colleges to impart effective engineering education.
In this module we studied Fire-bird V Robot which is Atmega-2560 microcontroller, its architecture and various sensors used in it. Hands-on done by installing software, motion control, velocity control by PWM techniques for speed control. Analog to digital converters were also discussed and the concepts used in programing like masking were also taught. A robotic kit was also given to do programming. TBT (Task Based Training) will be given through assignments over a period of 3-4 months prior to set up of Robotic Centre.
The faculties were given value-based training and knowledge was imparted through hands-on practical learning.
