1st Virtual Inter-University Fest - 2020

The 1st Virtual Inter-University Fest was organized by K.R. Mangalam University on 31st August 2020. The array of activities was organized by the member of clubs and societies of KRMU. The event was planned, organized and executed by the first-year students under the mentorship of their seniors.

Rhetoric Society organized Poet’s café competition and anchoring competition named as ‘anch-comp’. Poet’s café was conducted under the teachers in charge Ms. Mouli and Ms. Kanika. The competition was judged by Ms. Ekta Singh, linguistics, soft skills trainer and Ms. Arpita Sahai, poet, author and scholar as honored jury members. Ms. Pooja Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Burdwan University and Ms. Deepika Tripathy Spanish language expert as honored jury members of second event. The students from various universities participated and showcased their talents.

Muskaan from Amity University, Gurugram and Samridhi from Lakshmi Bai College, DU bagged first and second position respectively in the Anch comp whereas Bhavika from sector 14 Government Girls College and Janhabi from Amity University, Gurugram won first and second position respectively in the poet’s cafe competition.

Dr. Paras Nath Singh and Dr. Kavi Arya, IIT Bombay judges the Climabots competition organized by E-Yantra Robotics Society, KRMU. Taruj Satti, Marut Mishra, Arsh Anwar and Kuldeep from SGT University Bagged 1st position followed Abhishek from K.R. Mangalam University.

Legal and Management Society conducted AD Mad & Startup Adda competitions wherein freshmen were supposed to present their startup ideas via power point presentation under the guidance of Mr. Amit Kumar, Assistant Professor, SOMC. The dignitaries who graced the occasion with their presence were Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor K.R Mangalam University and Prof. Dr. Aditya Malik, Vice Chancellor K.R. Mangalam University, Mr. Subodh Sachan, Director STPI and Mr. Sumit Kapoor, New Age Marketing Consultant and alumni IIM, Tiruchirappalli.

Professor Dinesh Singh addressed the students by his motivational speech and boosted up the moral of students by an overview of marketing strategies. The runner-ups of the STARTUP ADDA were Mr. Kuldeep & team, and the winner were Mr. Devang Shukla & team whereas runner up of AD MAD were Ms. Shreya & team and winner were Mr. Hara Gobinda Phukan & team.

The sports society of K.R. Mangalam University organized online sports competitions under Mr Ashwin Kumar with very interesting and fun games like PubG, Counter strike, chess and pool. It was a very refreshing for all the participants as they never imagined a virtual sports competition. The winners for the day in respective games were:

The winners were: PUBG: Arjun Sud, Shreya Gupta, Vaibhav Sharma and Dhananjay Kalra got first position and the runner up were Kareena Sethi, Shivraj Pandey and Paras Arora. COUNTER STRIKE: Franken Toppo, Devanshu Rawat, Srijan Jaiswal, Shobit Gupta and Rahul Sumit Bilung got first position and the runner up were Tushar Sharma, Abhinav Anand, Kunal Verma and Abhijeet Dhaka. In CHESS Jitesh got the first position and the runner up was Dipesh Joshi. In POOL Gaurav Bansal and the runner up was Dhruv Behl.

The annual cultural fest of K.R. Mangalam University, Rendezvous was organized virtually for the first time with a lot of fun games and activities. The event began with the welcome address by Prof. Dr. Sahil Arora, Chairperson of cultural society. The competition included two very fun segments, Talent hunt and just a minute session based on individual’s capabilities and interests. There were various entries in singing, dancing, poetry, yoga etc. All the participants performed live in front of the judges and left the audience spellbound with their beautiful performances. The event proved that talent is never platform bound and even in the worst of the times, it finds a space for itself. All the performances set a bench mark and made it difficult for judges to choose. Finally, the profound judges of the event Ms. Shikha Kukreja, Asst. Prof with Jagannath International Management School and Ms. Nikita Arora, Founder and CEO of Webnnel announced the results. Amardeep Tiwari (yoga) bagged 1st position followed by Powel Agnidiksha (singing), judges also announced a special mention for Ayush whose singing made him one of the stars of the event.
