Induction Programme Report – Day 8

24th August 2020: The second week of the online Induction Progamme 2020 started with rejuvenating session with the aim of increasing concentration and focus of the students.

The first session on Conflict, Security and Artificial Intelligence was conducted by Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Associate Professor, School of Engineering and Technology, KR Mangalam University. Dr. Neeraj interacted a bit with the new entrants and then the session began with the presentation round presented by second year students. The sole motive of the presentation round was to make the freshmen aware of some AI related topics like data technologies, internet of the things and why e-commerce.

The second session on Business Management, Leadership & Entrepreneurship was conducted by Mr. Gurbir S Khera, Assistant Professor, School of Management & Commerce and Dr. Anita Sharma, Assistant Professor, School of Management & Commerce. The session proceeded with an elaborated presentation on the start-up named ‘InstantKhushi’ by KRMU freshers (2020-21), STP marketing model and marketing segmentation explained by Mr. Khera. Further AD MAD activity was organised where students were given opportunity to showcase their talent regarding the concept of advertisement, creativity & originality. Freshmen engaged actively by presenting their innovative ads and made the session more interactive.

The third session of Law, Justice and Democracy was organised by the School of Legal Studies wherein Ms. Sara Yadav and Ms. Pratiksha, students of KRMU shared their experiences with the new entrants. The debating session began with one of the most debatable topic Death Penalty in a country. Anshita and Anju talked in the favour of motion whereas Twinkle Chugh and Ashutosh spoke against the motion. The session proceeded with audience's opinion on the same. The second topic of debate was Acceptance of live-in relationship. Alex Noel Das and Timothy talked in the favour of the motion, justifying why live-in relationships should be in acceptable in a society whereas Vibhana Anand and Jai Sikand spoke against the motion. The session continued with an open discussion on the same topic.

Another interesting session was conducted by on ‘Art, Architecture & Design’ wherein Design Competition’s rules and regulations were explained to the students. Ms. Sapna Singh has highlighted the facts of Integration of Design in Art, Architecture & Design through the good visuals on inspirations and principles of design implementation. She was showed students collection’s clips as an example of integration of Design in Fashion Designing Field.

Climate Change, Environment and Sustainability session started off with discussion on the role of data science in our day-to-day lives. It was followed by a sample presentation by 2nd year students, Agnivesh Tiwari and Kabir Chaudhary was aligned wherein they used data science analysis to explain climate change.

The second week of the Induction Programme is witnessing freshers in more active and refreshing mood.
