School of Fashion organized a guest lecture on "Sustainability in Fashion Industry" by Ms.Sonali Singh Palon 4th March 2020.
Ms.Sonali Singh is M.Design from NIFT Delhi & Graduate in Sociology Hons from DU
and PG Certificate in Higher Education from Nottingham Trent University, UK. She has 10 years of academic experience in the field of Design. She was part of G.D.Goenka university as Associate Professor and Pearl Academy of Fashion as Assistant Professor.Currently, she is Operations Head & Creative Director at "TARAgram " a social enterprise, under development alternatives, NGO, helping artisans across India connecting to the rightmarkets.
She started the session by explaining the importance of craft and their application in fashion garments and products. The Students were able to understand the evolution of craft in today's world. Later, she drives the session on "Sustainability in Fashion Industry" and gave students a new outlook to the Indian craft and textile. It was an interactive and informative session. She also encouraged students to revive the craft and textile so that it would recognize globally. She gave presentation on the latest sustainable methods used in industry to save the environment.
