Perspective- ‘Media Trial Vs Media Ethics’ SJMC

October 21, 2020: In the second edition of Perspective-Live Talk Show School of Journalism and Mass Communication invited Adv. Durgesh Kumar Sharma who currently serves in Delhi High Court. The topic of the session was ‘Media Trial VS Media Ethics’.

The speaker shared his views and opinions regarding the topic ‘Media Trials vs Media Ethics’ with the anchor of the show Kareena Sethi, a BA(JMC), III semester student. Adv. Durgesh Sharma talked about how court and media work together and what are ethics of a journalist while covering a case. He also shared his views on current going cases such as Sushant Singh Rajput, 2013 ‘Arushi Hatya’ Case telling how a journalist works in the current state of journalism and what laws and ethics needs to be followed.

In his concluding remarks he said that media is portraying, and the repercussions associated with it and how the media has been unethical towards sensational topics. He did not shy away from putting his opinions forward and encouraged everyone present in the event to do the same and wished everyone for a bright future.
