WEBINAR- A NEW PROSPECT IN PHARMA PROFESSION: PHARMACOVIGILANCE

School of Medical and Allied Sciences, KRMU organized a webinar with an aim to apprise the students about the career avenues for pharmacists in the field of pharmacovigilance on 19th June 2020. The theme of the webinar was ‘A New Prospect in Pharma Profession: Pharmacovigilance’.
The guest speaker Mr Tarun Gupta, Senior Research Scientist, Sun Pharma specialist in describing, establishing and maintaining a pharmacovigilance system for global compliance of Aggregate Reporting for projects assigned (PSURs, PBRERs, and ad-hoc projects requests), Scientific Report Writing, Medical Writing (PSUR & PBRER reports), Medical Affairs (Slide Deck preparation and presentation) Regulatory Submissions (Assisting India Region and region VI Inputs from Sun Pharma to CDSCO/PVPI and other international agencies) and Clinical Trial Data Analysis.
Mr Rohit Gupta, Expert on Pharmacovigilance discussed about quality review of ICSRs of Serious and Non- serious adverse events with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
The guest speakers shared the unexplored career avenues for pharmacy professionals.They provided information of new emerging fields like health economics and outcomes research, IPR, market research, medical writing, and pharmacovigilance.
They requested the students to scrutinize their interest areas, look for opportunities and develop required skills. The session was very informative and ended with an open-house question-answer round.
