With an aim to learn the current and post-covid career scenario for pharmacists, School of Medical and Applied Sciences conducted a live session with renowned industry professionals from varied pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies on 15th June 2020. The guest speakers were Mr Rajesh Agrawal, Dr Vinod Kumar Gautam and Mr Jitendra Gupta.

MrRajesh Agrawal has around 27 years of experience and is currently working at Modi-Mundi Pharma R&D Centre as Deputy General Manager. He is responsible for Pharma Research, Product Development, Tech. Transfer, Analytical Development and Troubleshooting. He shared with the audience scope and prerequisites required for various careers options in the field of pharmacy.He also discussed the job opportunities available outside India, and the exams to be cleared in order to avail one.

Dr Vinod Kumar Gautam is currently running his own Foods and Nutraceutical industry with an annual turnover of 5 crore INR. Besides this, he is also working as a consultant and advisor for a few food and nutraceutical companies in the country. Dr Vinod’s talk revolved around the impact of COVD-19 on herbal formulations and the nutraceuticals. Around 70 percent of word population relies on natural products for primary health care.He shared the various possibilities of entrepreneurship in the field of herbals and nutraceuticals, like herb trading and herb cultivation.

Mr Jitendra Gupta, Director, PH Creationsapprised the audience with the concept of e-pharmacy and how it’s different from the conventional pharmacies. He also shared valuable information regarding e- marketing in the field of pharmacy, the challenges and possibilities in the current lockdown scenario. Dr Saahil Arora, Dr ManojGadewar, Ms Silky Sethy and Ms Neha Minocha, faculty members from SMAS, KRMU were also among the panelists. The session was presided over by Dean, SMAS, Prof Nitin Kumar.
