Students of pharmacy got opportunity to interact with national and international experts during series of webinars

Keeping in view the current ‘lock down’ scenario and with an aim to upgrade the knowledge of students, School of Medical and Allied Sciences(SMAS), KRMUorganized series of webinars on 16th April 2020. Prof Nitin Kumar, Dean SMAS presided over the session.

Dr Suresh Kumar, IP Consultant, Pharma Beistand Pvt Ltd. addressed the students on the theme ‘PATENTS AND FILING PROCEDURES IN INDIA’. Dr Suresh has a doctorate in pharmacy from the prestigious Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi. He has worked with big pharmaceutical giants like Ranbaxy and Sun Pharma and currently is working as IP Consultant with Pharma Beistand Pvt Ltd.

The second session was conducted on PHARMACOVIGILANCE by Ms Prachi Singh, Pharmacovigilance Associate, Apcer Life Sciences. Ms Prachi discussed the basics of pharmacovigilance and its importance in health care. Pharmacovigilance is the practice of monitoring the effects of medical drugs after they have been licensed for use, especially in order to identify and evaluate previously unreported adverse reactions.

Dr Salihu Abdullahi Kiyawa, Assoc Professor, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Nigeria conducted the session on BASIC TO EXPERIMENTAL DEVELOPMENT. Dr Kiyawa shared that theprocess of research comprises of systematic and creative work. His talk was primarily based on the categories of research and related concepts.
