The Computer Society of India (CSI), K.R. Mangalam University student chapter organized a two-day online debate competition on 8th and 9th August 2020. Debate is a great device for engaging smart and analytical minds. It helps to sharpen and provide clarity to understand essential critical-thinking and enhance presentation skills.

The Students from various universities all over India registered and participated in the competition. The first round was conducted on 8th August 2020, a topic was allotted to the teams a day before through registered mail. There were three members in a team, one person spoke for the motion, one against it, and the third played the role of an interjector. The list of the topics was diverse from domain of technology, society, academics, science and technology.

The round 1 debate was judged by the panel including Dr. Kavita Chawla, Dr. Bhavna Sharma, Dr. Sapna Sharma, and Dr. Priyanka Sharma.

The selected 5 teams took part in round 2 on 9th August 2020. In this segment was a situational round, wherein every team was given a scenario/problem statement for which a representative of each team will express the view on the topic.
