Workshop on Online Safety

17th September 2020

17th September 2020: Online safety workshop was organized in association with Youth Online Learning Opportunities (YOLO), an NGO, by NSS-KRMU. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Pratistha Arora, Mr. Vikram Singh, and Mrs. Tanya Tikiya.

Mrs. Pratistha Arora and Mr. Vikram Singh talked about the importance of strong password and two-way authentication. The also shared the previous year survey report, in which it was founded that the most common password utilized was “password123456” and she informed about the significance of two step authentication.

They also discussed about the use of social media by giving some real-life examples. Mr. Vikram Singh talked about a child of just 12 years of age in his neighbourhood, who has 4000 friends on his facebook account in such a small age and about the fake schemes which helps in increasing the number of fake followers. Mrs. Pratistha Arora guided us through the social media hate and trolling and suggested not to share our personal information without thinking on such social media platforms.

NSS volunteers also asked questions and cleared their doubts and made the event successful by giving their valuable feedback.

E-certificates have been awarded to all the participants. The workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Chandra Mohan and concluding speech by Dr. Neeraj Kumari and Mr. Vinod Kumar.
