Dr. Seema Raj
Associate Professor – Basic & Applied Sciences
Dr. Seema Raj is a distinguished academician, a visionary thought leader, and a dedicated mentor in the field of chemistry. With over two decades of rich teaching and research experience, she has been instrumental in shaping the academic and research landscape at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon. Currently serving as the Associate Dean of Research Grant and Associate Professor at the School of Basic & Applied Science (SBAS), Dr. Raj has been a driving force behind numerous research and innovation initiatives.
Dr. Raj embarked on her academic career in 2003 and has since held several influential teaching and administrative positions. Since January 2015, she has been an integral part of K.R. Mangalam University, where she has played a pivotal role in fostering research, innovation, and academic excellence. She has been an active member of several key committees, including the IQAC Cell, ensuring continuous quality enhancement in academic and research activities; the Research, Innovation & Extension Head, spearheading cutting-edge research initiatives and industry collaborations; the Research & Development Cell, encouraging groundbreaking research and fostering an innovative academic environment; and the Board of Studies (BoS) Member, contributing to curriculum development and academic reforms.
Dr. Raj has been a guiding force for Ph.D. scholars and has mentored numerous research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, nurturing young minds to excel in scientific research and innovation. A passionate researcher, Dr. Seema Raj’s work spans across multiple domains, including the utilization of fly ash in eco-friendly construction blocks, soil improvement techniques for sustainable agriculture, biodiesel production for green energy solutions, advanced water treatment methods for environmental conservation, and social upliftment through value chain processes to empower communities.
Her research contributions include numerous papers in prestigious national and international peer-reviewed journals, national and international conferences presenting groundbreaking research, several innovative patents in her research domain, and authored books and book chapters contributing to scientific knowledge.
Dr. Raj’s relentless commitment to research and education has earned her several accolades, including prestigious awards and research grants. She is a Co-Principal Investigator of a major project sanctioned by the DST-SEED division for the KEIC STI-HUB, Sohna Block, Gurugram, Haryana. This project is aimed at driving socio-economic progress through scientific research and technological interventions.
Dr. Seema Raj continues to be an inspiring leader in academia, fostering a culture of innovation, research excellence, and intellectual curiosity. Her contributions extend beyond classrooms and laboratories, shaping the future of scientific inquiry and academic growth. Through her dedication, she not only empowers students but also strengthens the research ecosystem, creating a lasting impact in the academic and scientific community.
