Job Description: Assistant Professor – Fine Arts (Applied Arts)
Position Overview
The Assistant Professor – Fine Arts (Applied Arts) is responsible for teaching, research, and academic service at the university. The role involves mentoring students, conducting research, and contributing to the development of the department’s curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
- Deliver lectures and practical sessions in Applied Arts (such as graphic design, illustration, advertising, or digital media).
- Develop and update course materials to align with industry trends.
- Conduct student assessments, reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Research & Publications
- Engage in scholarly research and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in academic conferences and workshops.
Student Mentorship & Guidance
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and creative portfolios.
- Provide career guidance and support for internships and placements.
Department & University Service
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and university events.
- Engage with external art and design communities to enhance industry collaboration.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Ph.D. (preferred) or Master’s degree (MFA/MVA) in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of teaching experience at the university level (preferred).
- Strong portfolio showcasing work in applied arts, design, or related fields.
Skills & Expertise:
- Proficiency in software/tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Knowledge of traditional and digital art techniques.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
