Job Overview:
The Student Success Manager is responsible for designing and implementing strategies that enhance student engagement, retention, and overall academic success. This role involves providing academic and non-academic support, collaborating with faculty and administration, and ensuring that students have the resources and guidance needed to excel in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement & Retention:
- Develop and implement student success initiatives to improve retention, graduation rates, and overall student satisfaction.
- Monitor student performance, attendance, and engagement to identify at-risk students and intervene proactively.
- Conduct one-on-one student advising sessions to provide guidance on academic, personal, and career-related challenges.
- Organize orientation programs, workshops, and mentoring initiatives to support student transition and integration into university life.
Academic & Career Support:
- Collaborate with faculty to create strategies that enhance student learning and classroom engagement.
- Work closely with the Career Services team to connect students with internships, mentorships, and job opportunities.
- Guide students in developing personalized academic and career plans, ensuring alignment with their aspirations.
Student Services & Well-being:
- Partner with student counseling and wellness services to provide emotional and psychological support.
- Address student concerns regarding academic performance, faculty interactions, or administrative processes.
- Establish a feedback mechanism to continuously improve student experiences based on data-driven insights.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track and analyze student performance metrics, engagement levels, and satisfaction surveys to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports for university leadership, highlighting key findings and recommendations for enhancing student success.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a bridge between students, faculty, and administration to foster a supportive academic environment.
- Collaborate with academic departments to develop intervention strategies for struggling students.
- Work with student clubs and leadership teams to encourage extracurricular participation and holistic development.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with students, faculty, and administration.
- Empathy and problem-solving abilities to support students in overcoming challenges.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve student outcomes.
- Knowledge of student engagement strategies, academic advising, and career counseling.
- Experience in organizing student-focused events and initiatives.
- Familiarity with university policies, student support services, and learning management systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in student affairs, academic advising, or a similar role in higher education.
- Prior experience in student engagement, career services, or academic counseling will be an advantage.
