A guest lecture on “value and peace education” was held on 18th February 2020. The guest lecture has been organized by the department of Education to provide the students with an opportunity to get a bird’s eye view on how to inculcate values in teaching learning process which is an important aspect in the field of Education. The guest lecture began with welcome address by the Coordinator of the Education Department Dr. P.C. Jena. He has introduced and welcomed Prof. Dhananjay Joshi to deliver the lecture.

Guest Profile: He is one of the founding faculty members of University School of Education, GGSIP University Delhi since its inception (2008). He obtained Ph.D. in Education in the year 2003 from University of Delhi at the very young age of 27 years perhaps most young in the Department of Education University of Delhi. Professor Joshi is also a well-known Hindi Poet and Writer which includes “Madhur Smrati Kamal” & “Anubhuti ke Swar”. He has been invited at U K Conference (London) and presented his paper on Mobile Apps and digital India. He visited Oxford University to share views on Indian Education.

He has been felicitated by Prestigious S. RADHA KRISHNAN MEMORIAL AWARD 2008 and also received prestigious Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam National Youth Icon Award 2018, Dwarka Srijan Shree Award 2018, Abhimanch Sahitya Puruskar, Sanskrit and Hindi Academy Awards (Delhi Government) and many others in his credit.

Students from varied departments attended the session which was very much interactive and enriching.

The session ended with a hearty thanks and presenting of a memento to Prof. Dhananjay Joshi by Dr. P.C. Jena in appreciation for taking the time out to educate the students.

He thanked the Management for providing the platform to organize guest lecture on Humanistic Pedagogy. He appreciated faculty members, student’s volunteers and participants for the successful conduction of the event
