Saint Gobain & The Economic Times Smart Green Summit
A Saint Gobain& Economic Times Summit & awards of one day on ‘Smart Green’ was held in Hotel Taj Diplomatic Enclave, NewDelhi, on 27th April 2018. Prof. Indrani Ghoshal Basu, Dean and two faculty members Ar. Nidhi Aggrawal and Ar. Shivani Singh of School of Architecture and Planning (SOAP) attended the same.
Thewelcome address was given by BSanthanam, President, Flat Glass – South Asia, Malaysia & Egypt, Saint- Gobain. Thesummit initiated with the introduction of Chief Guest and other eminent speakers and delegates across globe.
The focus of the 3rd edition of this summit is on futuristic sustainable building designs, smart technology, new building materials and policies that will redefine our built environment. The summit included interesting conferencing activities such as Panel Discussions, Keynote Presentations, Unique Networking Activities, Round Table discussions and Think Tanks.
The session started with the introduction of many eminent personalities from the architecture and planning fraternity across globe. The focus of all the presentations and talks was Envisioning the future of Design& Futuristic Built Spaces.
First Session on the day was Design segment based onsolving the Housing Challenge – Design Solutions for Housing for all by 2022social and economic trends, transport and planning rules all influence the way we live & what we demand from our homes.
Next Session was technology Segment which had many spotlight presentations onDisruptive technology trends, Tech Trends of 2030 in the Design & Construction Sector 3D Printing, Rendering & Architectural Visualization, Design and Build Better with VR and BIM.
Third & last segment was based on Material Trends on how new and dynamic build and design materials will change the game of sustainable building. PechaKucha: Sustainable and Multi-Purpose Materials for Design and Architecture showed many new innovative building materials& technologies in field on architecture.
Many National and International speakers presented their research & projects on the current burning issues of housing India and rest of the developing countries.
The whole session came an end by a thank note to all the speakers and a valedictory session by R Subramanian, Managing Director Glass & Solutions, Saint-Gobain India.
All an all it was indeed a very informative summit where we got the opportunity to have an interaction with many eminent people of the architecture and planning fraternity.
