SJMC Industry Engagement Programme ended on high note

On the fifth day of the Industry Engagement Program organized by School of Journalism and Mass Communication, KRMU Dr. Hemant Kaushik, Associate Editor News Nation addressed the participants on Sports Journalism. Dr. Hemant began his lecture with a short insight in his life and his journey as sports journalist and then he moved on to the topic of the session sports journalist and he explained every possible aspect of the following topic.

The last day of K.R. Mangalam University’s Industry Engagement Programme ended on a very cinematic note on 25th September’20 with a session on Film Appreciation and its aspect by Ms. Akanksha Jain. The entire session was full of pioneer cinema examples which helped the participants relate and connect to everything being said by ma’am.

Ms. Jain began the session by asking the participants their perception of cinema and swiftly moved onto Film Appreciation. “Film Appreciation is reading and understanding the film shot by shot” said Ms. Singh. She emphasized more on how things have changed over the years in the industry and films are becoming science, art and passion driven. No more are the times when films were just for entertainment purposes, the industry now has much more to it.

Giving celebrated examples of Boyhood, Loving Vincent, 1917, My Blueberry Nights and Tumbbad, she focused on all the aspects of making from script writing to cinematography. She made the session unique by talking about the impact of sound and lightings as well.

Ms. Sakshi Arya, threw light on all promising career aspects in various branches of TV industry. She also gave the participants insight about all the requisite qualities that are at demand and an aspirant in TV industry must possess.

The weeklong informative and educative programme concluded on positive note as students got the opportunity to learn and interact with the industry experts and academicians.
