This programme prepares students to design and develop methods for extracting oil and gas from deposits below the Earth's surface. It also helps students to design, installation and maintenance of equipment and develop plans to extract oil and gas from onshore and offshore reserves and then to recover the oil and gas. They also learn to evaluate the production of wells through surveys, testing and analysis
Students can receive an interdisciplinary overview that includes the geology, chemistry and fluid mechanics necessary to harvest and use oil. Many of these courses also cover topics related to the economics and social aspects of the oil industry.
