Virtual Moot Court Competition

September 16, 2020

“Revised every book, learned all the sections and discussed all the case laws but the fear of moot court never lets me stay calm”. A Moot Court is a mock court at which law students argue on imaginary cases for practice.

On 16th September 2020, School of Legal Studies at K. R. Mangalam University organized its first ever Virtual Moot Court Competition-2020. The Virtual Moot Court Competition involved 3 teams consisting 2 members each and for today’s competition the Appellant and Respondent were the ones acting as Researchers as well.

The judges of the competition were Dr. Archana Vashisth, and Ms. Palki Vats.

The case provided is in relation to the conflict of worshipping rights of women against customary practices of Teearth Temple. In the concerned moot problem provided to the students, the main question for argument was “Whether the women aged between 10-50 yrs. that is those who are in the menstruating period should be allowed to enter in Teearth Temple, located in Hindiya”?

Overall the participants of the Moot Court Competition participated in a very vigorous and enthusiastic manner. The rebuttal round as well was very interesting.

The event was a great success and with the help of faculty members, School of Legal Studies succeeded in organizing its first ever Virtual Moot Court Competition.
